We are a few days into free agency…How have we done? It has been much slower than past years. Is that by design or by necessity. Has our over-spending, free-dealing front office learned its lesson? Unlikely. We are paying for past mistakes in a major way!

London Fletcher, tackling machine,32 in May, 5 years , $25 million…Too bad we didn’t keep Pierce, huh?

If we still had Pierce, we wouldn’t have had to trade up for Rocky Mac, Marshall would have been a cheap weak-side linebacker…Which is where he will most likely start the season.

Fred Smoot, wasn’t he here before? Too bad we didn’t keep him then..We wouldn’t have had to draft Carlos Rogers in the first round..I bet the Skins wish they had that one back. We wouldn’t have had to trade up for Campbell, we could have traded down…way down… and collected numerous picks on the way.

Leonard Davis? Not sure where to start, how about re-signing Dock 2 years ago for about $1.75 million a year for 5 years…He would have inked that deal, no doubt.

We have to get younger….we need to draft. We have the sixth pick…I pray that a guy named Peterson or Quinn falls in our lap so that we can get a willing trading partner on April 28th..In reality, it will most likely be DE Jamaal Anderson from Arkansas. He will definitely help our aging defense, but how much?

I could go on forever, but it depresses me. Are we a better team this Sunday morning, than on Friday..Probably. Are we a playoff team? No. We still have major work to do on the Defensive four. One of the biggest issues last season was how un-athletic our front seven was…I think Fletcher will help, but he isn’t the cure.

If you’re wondering if I am a Redskin fan at all ….I am… I am a rabid Redskin fan and always will be. I want Championships….I want a front office that manages itself like Philly or New England…

Did I mention that I just received and paid my season ticket invoice? Maybe that is why I am so bitter this morning…

Go Skins!!!!!!!!!!!!!
